Why your Website needs to be Mobile Compatible

The age of mobile compatibility is here and it isn’t going away. It isn’t enough to just have a website. Now it needs to load on everyone’s smartphone and tablet as well as their laptop or PC. Being available on mobile literally puts access to your customer’s in their hands anywhere at anytime. Deviation Media’s Chief Web Designer, Zac Howe says, “Mobile compatibility brings the website directly into the hands of the users. With this greater accessibility, users have the freedom to explore the website at any time of the day or night.”

You don’t have to just take our word for it. Here are a few statistics that support why your budget should include mobile. This trend is here to stay and here’s proof:
Consumers now spend 60% of their time on the internet on their mobile device. (Marketing Land)

They are going to be online on their phones. If your page won’t load they will find someone whose page
does. That person will get their business… and most likely they won’t be back. Don’t lose them.

46% of shoppers say they are less likely to shop around for other options when they’re using a company’s mobile app. (comScore)
This means that if they are on your app they are very unlikely to look elsewhere for the product. If you have it and they can get it, they will get it from you. Take some time to have an app designed and market it.

Mobile data traffic between 2013 and 2019 is expected to grow at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 45%. This means it is estimated that there will be 10 times the amount of total mobile data traffic by 2019. (Ericsson)

traditional computers. It is going to grow exponentially. If you don’t get involved you may have a hard time keeping up or catching up. Don’t lose out on traffic to your website that you may not get back.

70% of mobile searches result in action on a website within an hour of the search. (iAcquire)

This shows that consumers and mobile users are not continuing to search again and again. Instead, they are looking at and using what they found that worked the first time. If your website is not mobile friendly they won’t remember to try and log on their computer later. They will have already done what they needed to do and moved on.

95% of smartphone users have searched for local info. (Google)

People are looking for your business locally. They want to find out your hours, specials, products and even just your location. If they are on their mobile and they can’t find you they will find someone else. Don’t let that happen. Make sure they can find you.
